Capsule works with over 60 medical device manufacturers around the world to ensure connectivity to virtually any medical device.
In fact, we offer the largest library of medical devices available, over 780 and growing making us the only company to support 94% of Medical Devices in 18 different device categories. Our relationships with medical device manufacturers also ensure that our customers can take advantage of the most up-to-date software on those devices as device protocols change our partners send us those updates and we update our drivers.
Connecting is just the first step. Along with the physical connection is the ability for the system to recognize what type of device is being connected in order to perform the translation by Device Driver Interfaces (DDIs). DDIs are paired to medical devices during deployment and help communicate and translate the incoming device data to the Capsule system. This paring is done once and then enables true plug and play capability. Through the industry’s largest and most mature device driver library, hospitals are assured that all their medical device types, models, and firmware versions are covered. Whether looking to enable connectivity for a wide range of both aging and new devices, or looking to expand the range of device types across different types of care environments, a comprehensive device driver library provides a truly scalable infrastructure.
