Rick has more than 25 years of entrepreneurial innovation and executive leadership experience in rapid-growth, technology-enabled businesses along with a proven track record in market disruption, strategy execution and value creation. As the founder and leader of Qualcomm’s health care subsidiary, Qualcomm Life, he directs all of Qualcomm’s commercial healthcare activities. Rick also has a hand in driving wireless health innovation outside the company through his involvement in the World Economic Forum as the co-chair of the Value in Health Initiative, his oversight of the $10M Qualcomm Tricorder XPrize competition and his oversight of both the $100 million Qualcomm Life Fund and the $100 million dRx Capital which make venture investments in digital health startups. Earlier in Rick’s career, as founder and CEO of ProfitLine, he cultivated his business savvy building the company from a one-man consulting firm into a 200 person, multi-million dollar enterprise that is now the West Coast arm of Tangoe Inc. (TNGO). As Rick built the company, ProfitLine was one of Inc. 500’s fastest growing companies in America three years in a row, on Deloitte & Touche’s Fast 50 companies four years in a row and he was awarded the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award. Rick is a native San Diegan, committed to the community. He uses his business building know-how to help fellow entrepreneurs launch enduring technology companies as a mentor at the Founder Institute and a member of the Executive Committee of the San Diego MIT Enterprise Forum. He is a board member of Pedal the Cause, a cancer research fundraising organization, a former chairman and long-time board member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego County and actively supports Rady Children’s Hospital and the Pediatric Diabetes Research Center at UCSD.

James Mault, MD, FACS, is the Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of Qualcomm Life after its 2013 acquisition of HealthyCircles, a Care Coordination and Remote Patient Monitoring Platform Company founded and led by Dr. Mault since 2009. His leadership responsibilities at Qualcomm Life include Strategic Planning and Business Development, Mergers and Acquisitions, New Product Innovation including Intelligent Care Analytics, Clinical Program and Regulatory Oversight, Global Health Policy, Government Affairs and External Affairs, Global Spokesperson and Public Relations. Prior to starting HealthyCircles, Dr. Mault was the Director of New Products, Business Development and Clinical Programs for the Health Solutions Group at Microsoft. Dr. Mault has more than 30 years of experience in senior executive positions in the Health IT and Medical Device industry as well as clinical medicine. Dr. Mault has founded multiple Health IT and medical device companies, raising over $100 million in working capital and leading these companies to develop novel devices and software technologies, FDA approvals, and strategic partnerships with numerous Fortune 500 companies, culminating in M&A and IPO exit transactions. He is the named inventor of over 80 issued and pending US Patents for a variety of novel health information and medical device innovations. He has been board-certified in both General Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery, having specialized in heart and lung transplantation, thoracic oncology and critical care. He has conducted academic medical research under numerous grant awards from the National Institutes of Health, American Cancer Society, and others. He is the author of more than 60 scientific articles, chapters and books in the published medical literature. Dr. Mault holds a B.S. in Biology and a Medical Degree from the University of Michigan, and conducted his General Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery residency training at Duke University Medical Center. Dr. Mault provides global thought-leadership on the future of technology and healthcare delivery, serving on numerous Boards and leadership positions including the Consumer Technology Association’s (CTA) Executive Board and Chairman of the CTA Health & Fitness Technology Board, the American Telemedicine Association, the Advanced Medical Technology Association, the National Science Foundation Nanosystems Engineering Research Center, and the World Economic Forum Healthcare Working Group. Dr. Mault also serves on the University of Michigan Medical School’s Admission Committee and is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation.

John McHutcheon, VP Operations
Jean-Claude "JC" Kyrillos is the Vice President and General Manager for Qualcomm Life. In this role, he has responsibility for the company's worldwide operating units and driving operational excellence across the company. JC has 30 years of diversified business experience, including 13 years of executive leadership in the medical device industry in acute care, homecare, and diagnostics. Prior to joining Qualcomm Life, JC was the worldwide vice president and general manager of BD’s (Becton, Dickinson and Company) global Infusion Solutions business (previously CareFusion). In this role, he led BD’s Alaris® infusion pump systems, including embedded and enterprise software with over $1 billion in annual revenues and ~5,000 global employees. Infusion pump systems are medical devices used to infuse drugs, fluids, and nutrition – predominantly for intravenous (IV) indications. Before BD/CareFusion, JC was president, ResMed Ventures and Initiatives and previously Co-Leader for ResMed, Americas. ResMed is a medical device company focused on sleep-disordered breathing, including obstructive sleep apnea. JC was the 16th employee and later Chief Operating Officer of GeneOhm Sciences a venture capital backed molecular diagnostics company focusing on rapid response diagnostic tests for infectious disease. GeneOhm was purchased by BD in 2006. Earlier in his career JC held several positions at Honeywell International, including finance leader for a ~$500 mil in annual revenues electronic materials business where he was based for three years in Hong Kong. JC serves on the Board of Directors for the San Diego Blood Bank and the Sharp Healthcare Foundation. He earned a MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA with Honors in History from Colgate University.
Frederic Darguesse, VP Engineering
John McHutcheon brings over 12 years of experience in the healthcare market and a solid understanding of bio-medical devices. A strong customer advocate with a technical background, John is responsible for managing all customer and partner implementations of Capsule’s medical device connectivity solution as well as overseeing worldwide hardware distribution. Prior to joining Capsule, John held management positions at Wang Healthcare overseeing interface and conversion projects.
Andy D’Ascenzo, VP Global Sales
Frederic Darguesse brings more than 14 years of experience in software engineering and managing teams in innovative product development. Since joining Capsule in 2002, he has led the design and development of DataCaptor 4.0, 5.0, 6.0, grown the R&D team, and developed the engineering practices. Frederic also created the hardware department in R&D for the design and development of the Capsule Neuron platform. Before joining Capsule, Frederic held various engineering and management positions working with high performance streaming servers and decoders in the video industry and the insurance industry.

Andy D’Ascenzo is the Vice President of Global Sales for Qualcomm Life. He has overall responsibility for the company's global sales strategy, sales process, training and organizational design. Andy has an extensive 30-year background in the healthcare business. Over the course of his career, Andy has specialized in helping sales leadership teams effectively sell and succeed in the C-Suite. Most recently, he was the VP of Sales for the Medication Management Solutions business for the East Area at Becton Dickinson & Co (formerly CareFusion), where he was responsible for $200 million in incremental annual medical device and software solution sales. He drove better together enterprise wide medication management solution synergies for the Alaris® IV medication infusion pump and Pyxis™ medication dispensing cabinet portfolios for acute care hospitals. Prior, Andy held several executive sales leadership roles at CareFusion leading the Alaris® Infusion Systems business (which was acquired by Cardinal Health and then spun out to become CareFusion) including National VP of Sales, responsible for $450 million in annual sales and the VP of Sales for the Central Area and the VP of Sales for the East Area. Before joining Alaris in 1996, Andy held sales and operations positions at West Pharmaceutical Services and Baxter Healthcare. Andy holds a BS in Business Administration/Operations Management and an MBA from Villanova University.

Kevin Phillips has over 10 years of experience in various roles within the health care, medical device and diagnostic industries. He oversees the Company's global product management activities. Prior to joining Capsule, Kevin held positions at TransMedics and PathoGenetix (formerly US Genomics). His career has been focused on new product development, product marketing, market analysis, strategic alliances, corporate operations, and sales.

Chris Talbot, VP 2net Business
Rena Bradham is the Vice President of Global Marketing for Qualcomm Life. In this role, she leads developing and driving global strategic marketing including commercialization strategy, communications, brand, sales collateral and launch. She also has a strong link to both sales and product management to define market opportunities and requirements. Rena has more than 21 years of experience and a proven track record in global and domestic marketing, strategy development and execution, product development and launch excellence, and lifecycle management, as well as customer insights, product innovation, market development, sales and marketing communications, and training development. Most recently, Rena led a global marketing and strategy team for a $2.1B in revenue (Medication Management Solutions) division of Becton Dickinson. She has also held various executive and marketing leadership positions at companies including CareFusion, Smiths Medical, Intraluminal Therapeutics, Guidant Corp and Boston Scientific. Rena's healthcare experience includes hospital and home care, in large companies and startups. Rena holds a double Bachelor of Arts in Economics and History from University of California, Los Angeles, and an MBA from Santa Clara University.

Chris Saunders, Sr. Director Finance
Chris is vice president responsible for the 2net business at Qualcomm Life. In this role, Chris leads the team responsible for developing, operating and growing the 2net platform that is underpinning the internet of medical things outside of the hospital. Chris founded the 2net Platform at Qualcomm Labs, leading the team that created the core products and services that set the foundation for the Qualcomm Life business. With 20 years of business development and marketing leadership, Chris has spent his career starting new domestic and international businesses within and outside Qualcomm across various sectors spanning Internet of Things (IoT), machine-to-machine (M2M) wireless communications, commercial space missions, defense surveillance systems and telehealth systems and services. Prior to Qualcomm, Chris spent 10 years at MacDonald, Dettwiler & Associates, helping grow the company into Canada's leading space and information services company, by creating new commercial space missions, leading the company into new market segments, and developing international business in Europe, Asia and the US. Chris holds an MBA from the University of British Columbia and a bachelor's degree in commerce from McGill University.

Chris Saunders is the Senior Director of Finance for Qualcomm Life. As a member of the Qualcomm Life management team, he has overall responsibility for all finance and accounting functions within the business. Chris brings 25 years of finance experience including roles in large publicly traded companies, smaller venture backed technology companies as well as public accounting. For the past 12 years, Chris has held various roles within Qualcomm Finance specializing in new and developing technologies. Most recently, he has served as head of finance for Qualcomm Life since its inception. Prior to that, he managed finance for several other emerging technologies with Qualcomm as well as the Qualcomm Venture Fund. Prior to joining Qualcomm, Chris served as Vice-President of Finance for a venture backed technology company in San Diego. He began his career with Price Waterhouse in Chicago where he spent six years working in their multinational public company audit practice. Chris holds a BS in Accounting from Boston College and has been a licensed CPA in Illinois and California.

Dana Mix is a Human Resources executive with over 18 years of experience working in global hi-tech/health-technology Fortune 500 companies. Trusted HR leader who has managed HR teams, and implemented global HR initiatives across a diverse set of functions and regions. Dana received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from University of California, San Diego, and her Masters in Organizational Behavior from C.S.P.P. In addition, she is SPHR certified as well as a certified 360 coach and trainer.
