Medical Device Software for Device Integration DataCaptor^TM

Capsule's DataCaptor Connectivity software is the core software component of Capsule’s Enterprise Device Connectivity Solution. It manages the communication between the medical devices and the destination Clinical Information System(s) and is the most proven, reliable software available for device integration.

DataCaptor runs on standard Microsoft Windows based-platforms. It supports up to 500 simultaneously connected devices on a single DataCaptor Connectivity Server with the flexibility to link multiple systems for increased levels of scalability.  DataCaptor features built-in support for over 600 bedside medical devices such as patient monitors, ventilators, infusion pumps, anesthesia machines and more and supports services such as data queuing, device management, remote viewing, email alerts, and web-based admin support.

There are two types of DataCaptor Connectivity Software that are designed to meet the varying acuity needs of the hospital – DataCaptor Continuous Connectivity Software and DataCaptor Periodic Connectivity Software.
DataCaptor Continuous Connectivity Software enables the automatic collection of data continuously from multiple devices for a single patient in higher acuity environments such as the ICU. This automatic collection of all vitals and device data, from all connected devices, allows clinicians in these environments to focus on patient care with the confidence of knowing that no data will be lost and that all values will be completely accurate and readily available when they have time to chart.

DataCaptor Periodic Connectivity Software enables the automatic collection of vital signs from a single device, such as a vital signs monitor, as well as the validation and submission of those vitals to the patient’s record right from the point of care. It is ideal for lower acuity environments such as med-surg and general wards where charting is less frequent but where there are multiple patients and where vitals need to be delivered to the patients chart in near real time for rapid decision making.
