Vendor Neutral Approach Ensures Medical Device Interoperability
Capsule is the first, true vendor neutral provider of device connectivity. Neutrality means we aren't tied to any one EMR or device manufacturer; we work with all of them, helping make them interoperable so hospitals don't have to worry about medical device interoperability.
But why is vendor neutrality so important? Because without it hospitals are often tied to a proprietary solution that is not flexible or scalable and that doesn't integrate with existing technologies and clinical work processes. So, vendor neutrality is the only way for hospitals to ensure that they can utilize the medical devices and information systems they already have and even add or change devices and systems without impacting the solution.
Capsule achieves neutrality through our vendor partnerships - partnerships with nearly every medical device manufacturer and information system provider.
Our partnerships with medical device manufacturers ensure that a hospital can connect any device they need and even add or change devices as needed. They also ensure that hospitals have access to the latest software updates and clinical features of those devices because Capsule has a proven process and dedicated development team solely focused on updating our device drivers with new software protocols. And since our solution features true plug and play connectivity, hospitals never have to worry about mapping or configuration because Capsule's Device ID Modules (DIMs) auto-detect biomedical devices and begin transmitting data right away.
Ourpartnerships and proven implementations with information system providers ensure that hospitals can connect to any information system including the Hospital Information System, Departmental EMR's, and even alarm management systems. And since the design of our solution features one HL7 feed to these systems, there is only one point of integration for the hospital to manage.
This is a true, open-architecture, vendor neutral approach to medical device interoperability- integration of any medical device to any information system that can be easily added to or changed without impacting connectivity.
