Avoid the Accidental Architecture

Webinar Description: Point of care device integration is rapidly becoming a key priority for hospitals. In fact, many hospitals today have some form of device integration, typically through their monitors and monitoring gateways. Patient monitors, however, are not the only devices needing integration. Hospitals also need to integrate their ventilators, IV pumps, and many other devices throughout the hospital. Yet, if each device is integrated one by one using proprietary based solutions, then hospitals could easily end up with an "accidental architecture" that leads to a collection of systems that can cause multiple points of failure, is a troubleshooting nightmare, forces separate silo workflows, and is in no way flexible or scalable. This presentation will explore how hospitals can avoid the accidental architecture.
